Have you ever wondered… Why is everyone talking about digital marketing so much?
Well, i’ll try to explain ‘why’ first, before I come over to the digital marketing definition.
With over 560 million internet users, India is the second largest online market in the world, ranked only behind China.
By 2021, there will be over 600 million internet users in India.
Despite the large base of internet users, only 34 percent of the indian population could access the internet in 2017..Even then, this was a big increase when compared to the previous few years, when internet penetration rate stood at approximately a little over 10 percent.
Let’s have a look at the graph to understand the growth in a little more depth:
As you can see in the graph—In 2018, India had over 480 million internet users across the country. This figure was projected to grow at over 660 million users by 2023, indicating a big market potential in internet services for the south Asian country (Source: Worldbank.org).
Likewise the advertisers’ spending is increasing in digital marketing to target the ever growing user base. Hence there’s a need for a large number of digital marketers and their demand is only going to be growing with each passing day.
